Fear of the Dark

My 1st or 2nd OASIS at BITS. 2 AM or later. A late night prof show by Parikrama. All of us slumped in our seats at the rear end of the auditorium. The band starts playing "Fear of the Dark" by Iron Maiden and the auditorium comes alive. We come alive, we stand up, we can't believe it, we run to the front to the pit, we join the chorus, we head bang, we dance, shout and are exhausted by the end of it. This was a song which thoroughly initiated me into the world of rock music. I have been listening to Metallica, Nirvana etc but haven't had heard much of Iron Maiden until then. Boy! what a song, what a performance. What a stiff neck for the next two days :)

I recently had the awesome privilege of attending the live concert by Iron Maiden in Houston. It was mind blowing and I enjoyed every bit of it. Though I love most of their other hits "Fear of the Dark" holds a special place always. Reminds me of that fun-filled night with dear friends and good ol' rock music performances at the BITS audi.
